Malaria, mosquitoes and man - breaking a deadly cycle
Researchers at Keele University are looking into a novel way of tackling malaria which could help prevent the million deaths a year caused by the disease.
Researchers in the Centre for Applied Entomology and Parasitology, part of the Institute for Science and Technology in Medicine, are focusing their efforts on trying to break the transmission cycle through which the disease is transmitted.
Their work concentrates on the complex relationship between the parasite which causes the disease and the mosquito which hosts the parasite.
