Smelling electronically

Engineers at Warwick University are developing electronic noses that mimic our sense of smell, which can distinguish between two chemicals.

The work raises the prospect of being able to diagnose illness by simply breathing in to a electronic nose that could tell what bacteria was contained in a patient's breath.
