Daffodils defended from fatal disease

The loss of thousands of daffodils each year to the deadly disease basal rot could be prevented thanks to research being carried out at Warwick University.

Researchers at Warwick HRI are trying to develop a strain of daffodil that is resistant to the disease as well as technology that will speed up the propagation of the plant.

The work could prevent widespread losses in the plant growing industry.
