Researchers at Warwick University may have found a solution to a global problem of producing biofuel without raising the cost of food, causing starvation, or environmental damage from the planting of biofuel crops.
They are looking at making biofuel from the waste product of wheat production, straw.
The work potentially means biofuel could be produced alongside food production and raw material for biofuel would not require the planting of extra crops for fuel in areas like the Amazonian rainforest.
