4D - the next phase in broadcasting

Freeview point video technology, being developed at Warwick University, could provide the same leap forward in broadcasting that was seen when the first movies were introduced.

The technology, which records action using 48 cameras, enables the viewer to look at a scene from any angle. The viewer can choose their preferred perspective, navigating around the performance as if they were in the same room.

As well as applications for home entertainment it could also be used in the medical world to improve operations.
