NHS care improved by lean processes

The centre of Clinical Systems Improvement, launched at Warwick University, aims to improve care and safety in the NHS by studying the way health care is provided.

The centre will look at applying the principles of lean management to health provision which involves cutting out any unnecessary steps in any procedure.

Organisers explain this will improve care and safety while also reducing costs.
