The Serious Games Institute at Coventry University recently launched as an international research centre, and as a home to serious games companies.

Serious games use computer gaming technology for training and research. Virtual worlds are now being used in emergency medical tuition and military environments as well as in diversity training and product marketing.

With the increased use of these technologies across the globe, the SGI is the new home for a number of cutting edge companies and is fast becoming a global leader in the research and development of this rapidly expanding field.
